Sheetsa — Terms of use

1. The grant

Sheetsa Split and Sheetsa Archive at this address (the "apps") are provided free of charge. You may use the apps for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial, as often as you like, at no charge and without registering. Everything the apps do happens in your browser: the files you open are processed on your device and are not sent to us.

2. What stays ours

The apps and their source are proprietary; all rights are reserved. Except for the use granted in section 1, you may not copy, redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense, host, modify, or create derivative works of the apps or their source, and you may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble them or otherwise try to recover their source, beyond what a browser unavoidably does to load a page. This grant covers use of the apps at this address and does not license the source in any other form.

3. Your files and your work

Your files stay on your device and remain yours; nothing here gives us any rights in them. To let you resume a job after closing the tab, the apps keep your current project in your browser's own storage on your device; clearing this site's data in your browser removes it. We receive neither your files nor what the apps read from them.

4. Automatic reading is fallible

Sheet numbers, titles, dates, revisions and everything else the apps read from a drawing are read automatically and can be wrong, incomplete, or missing — a titleblock the apps have never seen, a scanned page, or a drawing plotted without a text layer can all defeat them. The apps show what they read and let you correct it; checking the output before you rely on it, file it, or send it to anyone is your responsibility.

5. No warranty

The apps are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the owner of Sheetsa is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the apps — including lost data, lost work product, lost time, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss — even if advised of the possibility. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the apps, which is nothing.

7. Third-party components

The apps bundle open-source components — pdf.js, pdf-lib, tesseract.js and its language data, among others — that stay under their own licenses. Those licenses are unchanged by these terms and are reproduced beside each bundle in the software's vendor notices.

8. Changes and availability

The apps may change, break, or be withdrawn at any time without notice, and these terms may be updated; the date at the top is the version in force. Continuing to use the apps after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms cover the hosted apps only. The source code is not open source and is not licensed for use, copying, modification, or redistribution without written permission from the owner.
